Making chocolate-covered peanuts in the crock pot is a handy shortcut—layer the ingredients, let the slow cooker melt the chocolate, scoop into clusters, and chill until set.

  • Salted cocktail peanuts: the crunchy base for the clusters.
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips: classic chocolate flavor.
  • White chocolate chips: adds sweetness and contrast.
  • Dark chocolate chips: provides depth and balance.
  • Milk chocolate chips: rounds out the chocolate variety.

How to make crock pot peanut clusters

Step 1: Place the salted cocktail peanuts in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.

Step 2: Layer the chocolate chips over the peanuts: start with semi-sweet, then dark, then milk chocolate.

Recipe Note

Use a full-size 6 qt crock pot for this recipe — the peanuts and chocolate will fill the pot nearly to the top.

Step 3: Add the white chocolate chips on top and cover with the slow cooker lid.

Step 4: Cook on low for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until all the chocolate is fully melted and the peanuts are evenly coated.

Step 5: Line baking sheets with wax paper. Use a mini cookie scoop or spoon to drop clusters of chocolate-covered peanuts onto the sheets.

Joy’s Tip

This recipe yields about 60 clusters, so plan on 2–3 baking sheets. About 20 clusters fit on each sheet.

Step 6: Chill the sheets in the refrigerator until the clusters are firm, then transfer to an airtight container for storage.

Storing

At room temperature: Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week for best texture.

In the refrigerator: Keep in an airtight container for up to 1 month. Bring to room temperature a few minutes before serving so they soften slightly.

  • Place the cocktail peanuts in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Layer semi-sweet, dark, and milk chocolate chips over the peanuts.
  • Add the white chocolate chips on top.
