How to make Apricot Dijon Spiral Ham
- Preheat oven and place ham in baking dish.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the ham, cut side down, in a shallow roasting pan or baking dish.
- Prepare the glaze and pour half of it over the ham.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine ½ cup packed brown sugar, ½ cup apricot preserves, and 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard. Stir until smooth, bring to a gentle bubble while stirring, then simmer 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and spoon half the glaze over the ham.
- Bake.
Bake the ham, uncovered, for 1 hour.
- Top the ham with the remaining glaze and continue to bake.
Brush the remaining glaze over the ham and bake another 15–30 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer shows 140°F and the ham is heated through.
- Slice and serve.
Let the ham rest briefly, then slice and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
- Buy a half smoked, bone-in ham labeled “fully cooked.” Avoid country-style ham for this preparation, as it can be too dry and salty.

Spiral Ham: FAQs
Plan about 3/4 pound per person for bone-in ham, and about 1/2 pound per person for boneless ham.
Heat the ham gently and avoid overcooking. Covering with foil for part of the time and using a glaze helps retain moisture.
To reheat a spiral-sliced ham in a conventional oven, cover with heavy foil and warm at 325°F for about 10 minutes per pound. You can also reheat individual slices in a skillet or microwave.
Choose a half smoked, bone-in ham labeled fully cooked for best results with this glaze-based recipe.
