Health is our greatest wealth, and good nutrition is an essential part of living well. Today I share practical guidance on healthy food choices and tips to support lasting wellness. Pick up some motivation with today’s quote!

Happy Monday! It’s the first Monday of the month, and a perfect moment for a bit of motivation. In this Monday Motivation post I’m focusing on health and how incredible it feels to truly be healthy.
I know it might sound surprising, but nothing — and I mean nothing — feels better than being healthy.
Not a slice of cheesecake.
Not a bag of chips.
Nothing.
Health is our greatest wealth, and its importance touches every area of life. When health declines, productivity and enjoyment of daily activities decline too. Hobbies, work, and relationships can all suffer when we don’t feel well. Caring for others becomes harder and priorities shift toward recovery rather than growth.
So doesn’t it make sense to place health at the top of our priorities? Absolutely.
A few years ago I reached a point where I had pushed my body dangerously close to chronic illness. I was morbidly obese and had neglected my body for too long. Unhealthy eating patterns and a sedentary lifestyle began to disrupt my health. My metabolism changed, warning signs appeared, and eventually my body made me stop and pay attention. (You can read my weight-loss story in the original post.)
Those signals were a wake-up call. I stopped feeding emotions with sugary treats and fast food, committed to cleansing and recovery, and began healing my body with real, nourishing food. I started moving more and making consistent, healthier choices.
Today I can proudly say I’m still on that path — feeling healthier and happier than ever and maintaining my healthy weight without extreme effort.
I learned an important lesson: I never want to feel that sick again. With good nutrition and a balanced lifestyle, for the first time I have the energy to manage daily life with ease. I’m more energetic, focused, and alive than before.
After experiencing the benefits of a healthier lifestyle, going back to old habits is simply not worth it. The idea of junk food now feels repulsive because I know what it’s like to be unwell and unhappy.
Along the way I identified five core pillars that support good health.
How can you make health your greatest wealth?
Make healthy eating a priority.
Good nutrition underpins a healthy lifestyle. Paired with regular movement, a nutritious diet can lower the risk of chronic diseases and boost overall well-being. Choose foods that nourish and support your body rather than quick, processed options that only provide temporary satisfaction.
Drink more water.
Staying well-hydrated benefits skin, digestion, and muscle function, and it helps the body eliminate waste. Drinking adequate water is a simple habit with wide-ranging positive effects.
Get quality sleep.
Sleep is essential for recovery and mental clarity. People need different amounts of sleep, so find the duration that leaves you refreshed and prioritize it as a daily non-negotiable.
Find an exercise you enjoy.
Movement doesn’t have to be extreme to be effective. Discover activities you enjoy that keep you active consistently—walking, yoga, cycling, dancing, or strength training can all contribute to better health.
Do what you love.
Pursue hobbies and interests that engage and challenge you. Doing what you love elevates mood and resilience, which in turn supports physical health.
Most people who remove processed junk from their daily routine find that nothing tastes as good as healthy feels. That doesn’t mean denying pleasure; it means discovering a deeper, more sustainable enjoyment of life.
Until next time, stay happy and healthy.
Xoxo, Natalie
