I’m a little behind on posting this week. I started making the sweetest cake pops on Sunday, then had to pause photographing them to finish taxes and prepare for an appointment the next day. Boring paperwork pulled me away from the fun, but I finally finished taking pictures last night—so here they are.
The cake pops I made were inspired by jordan almonds—mostly the white ones. They make perfect bunny ears.
I’ve made bunny cake pops before using pastel candy corn and pipe cleaners (both super cute), but these jordan almond ears might be my favorite. You can use other colors of almonds too, but the white ones give such a clean, classic look.
Bunnies are like snowmen to me—I want to make them over and over. There are so many ways to vary their expressions and accessories and still keep them irresistibly cute.
I dressed some up with blue eyes, long eyelashes, soft blush, barrettes and bows for an Easter-ready look. You can also keep them simple: the almond ears alone create a fun canvas to decorate.
To shape the bunnies, I rolled the cake pops into ovals and used the pointed end of a jordan almond to press impressions where the ears would go. That way, after dipping, the almonds look integrated with the head instead of sitting on top.
Here are basic instructions for making these bunny cake pops:
- Prepare cake pop mixture and form into ovals rather than round balls.
- Use the pointed end of a jordan almond to make two shallow impressions at the top of each oval for the ears.
- Dip the pops in candy coating and, before the coating sets, press two almonds into the impressions to form ears.
- Hold each almond in place a few seconds so it stays upright, then let the coating dry completely.
- Add facial features and decorations once dry. You can pipe details with candy coating or attach small sprinkles and decorations using a dab of melted coating.
- Decorate lightly or go full glam—either way, these bunnies are charming.
For coating, I like Merckens Super White for its smooth finish and bright color.
For features I used a mix of sprinkles and edible tools: blue icing eyes, tiny rainbow chip sprinkles for noses, pink luster dust for blush, and an edible black ink pen to draw eyelashes and brows. Small flower sprinkles make adorable barrettes when attached with a drop of melted candy coating and a touch of sanding sugar for the center. I also dotted white coating for freckles and fine hair details. Toothpicks are handy for positioning and small adjustments.
All those little details bring the bunnies to life—some were glam, others sweetly simple. I made printable cake pop tags too if you want to use them as toppers or gift tags.

I also made a simpler version inspired by ice cream cone-shaped sweet tarts I found. I like to collect unique candies and sprinkles even when I don’t have a specific use in mind—eventually they come in handy. For this version I used the almonds again for ears, rainbow chip sprinkles for noses, mini marshmallows for little feet and arms, daisy sprinkles for embellishment, and small orange pressed candies as tiny carrots.
Although the ears are the same, each bunny turns out with its own personality. They’re fun to make and even more fun to share.
Hugs—hope you enjoy these little guys as much as I enjoyed making them.
