Pixar Pier Overview
I recently attended the media preview for Pixar Pier and had the chance to experience all the new elements before the general public. The atmosphere is full of color, character interactions, themed food and photo-worthy details. This guide highlights the top attractions, dining options, shops and tips to enjoy your day.
Pixar Pier Sign
The new Pixar Pier sign sets a whimsical tone as you enter. It lights up at night with twinkling bulbs and makes a great first photo of your day on the Pier.
Lamplight Lounge
Immediately to the right after the sign is Lamplight Lounge, a standout dining spot on the Pier. The menu blends coastal comfort with playful Pixar presentation. Fan favorites like Lobster Nachos remain on the menu, and the Warm Sugared Doughnuts are a must for dessert.
Knick’s Knacks
To the left under the sign is Knick’s Knacks, a merchandise shop packed with Pixar-themed souvenirs. You’ll find apparel, collectibles and jewelry — including Up-inspired Alex and Ani bracelets that I enjoyed purchasing.
Similar bracelet designs are also available at other locations like Elisa and Co in Hollywood Land and the Emporium in Disneyland Park.
Up Cake Pops
Dug and Russell Cake Pops debuted for the opening and are available at Candy Palace on Main Street, U.S.A. They’re adorable treats and a fun photo opportunity.
An Incredibles Pixar Fest hat also appeared at Knick’s Knacks during opening weekend and fit perfectly with the new Pier offerings.
Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats
Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats is a highlight for warm days. Their lemon soft serve is refreshing and available as a lemon cone, a lemon-vanilla swirl or the popular parfait that pairs lemon soft serve with a blue raspberry slush for an incredible flavor contrast.
My favorite is the Lemon-Vanilla Swirl; the parfait is also worth trying if you want something unique.
New Billboards and Murals
Colorful billboards and murals featuring beloved Pixar characters line the Pier. Look for Up, WALL•E, Finding Dory and Coco scenes — they’re vibrant backdrops perfect for photos and give each section of the Pier a distinct personality.
Incredicoaster
The Incredicoaster anchors the Pier. A bold new arch and refreshed entrance make it a focal point. Expect long waits; using MaxPass (or the current digital FastPass system) can save time by booking return times from your phone.
Ride both daytime and nighttime runs—each offers a different experience. Note a scented moment near the ride’s tunnel: a cookie aroma enhances the scene with Mr. Incredible and Jack-Jack.
Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums
Near the coaster exit is Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums, serving warm large cookies that are ideal for sharing. The warm chocolate chip cookie is especially popular and highly recommended. They also offer a shortbread cookie and a gluten-free Incredicookie option.
The warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie is a crowd-pleaser — delicious and satisfying after a ride.
Character Meet-and-Greets
Throughout the Pier you can meet Incredibles characters like Frozone and Edna Mode, as well as Toy Story favorites such as Jessie, and Up characters Russell and Dug. Character appearances are a fun way to add interaction and photos to your visit.
Poultry Palace
Poultry Palace serves savory meals like seasoned chicken drumsticks, corn on the cob and coleslaw in themed packaging. The drumstick meals were juicy and well seasoned, with a light vinaigrette-style coleslaw that pairs nicely with the mains.
Free Pixar Fest Food Guide
Look for a complimentary Pixar Fest Food Guide near the gift shop by Toy Story Midway Mania. It lists seasonal offerings and where to find them throughout the parks — handy for planning your snack stops.
Senior Buzz Churros
Senior Buzz Churros, opposite Toy Story Midway Mania, offers specialty churros like the Caliente Churro (Red Hot candy flavor) and the Cinnamon Sugar Galaxy Churro with sparkling sugar. The Caliente option has a bold candy-cinnamon taste without overwhelming heat.
Angry Dogs
Angry Dogs serves two main hot dog options next to the Pixar Pal-A-Round: the Angry Dog with Flamin’ Hot fries and a Not-So-Angry Dog with chips. Condiments include creative spicy ketchup and mustard options to customize your order.
Game Area and Prizes
The midway game area received a bright refresh with new signage, prizes and themed decor. Rechargeable game cards still work, and the new prizes include colorful sweets and plush characters, making this a fun stop for families.
Pixar Water Ball & Promenade
A playful Pixar-themed water ball feature draws kids to splash and play, while the Pixar Promenade hosts live bands and character dances that create lively entertainment throughout the day. Bing Bong’s Confectionery is still finishing touches, but there are already colorful photo opportunities and specialty cotton candy available nearby.
Pixar Pal-A-Round
The Ferris wheel has been renamed Pixar Pal-A-Round and features new paint and Pixar-themed gondolas. Both swinging and stationary gondolas are available — choose based on your comfort level, and enjoy panoramic views of the Pier and beyond.
Paint the Night Parade
Finish your day with the Paint the Night Parade. For the Pixar Pier opening, an Incredibles float was added to the lineup. The parade is a highlight of Disney California Adventure and a perfect way to end a magical day.
